Kum & Go Leading the Way in Biofuels As a pioneering participant in the biofuels movement, Kum & Go takes pride in being a contributing member of an industry that provide an array of environmental, health and financial benefits. Kum & Go was one of the first gas retailers to offer E-85, introducing it in 1997. Since then the company has become a top E-85 retailer with more E-85 fueling destinations than any other convenient store chain in the state, with plans to double that number within the next year. Kum & Go’s E-85 distribution sites in Iowa include Ames, Ankeny, Clear Lake, Grinnell, Lamoni, and West Des Moines. Johnston and Coralville will be added to the list soon. Other E-85 locations for Kum & Go include Adrian, Minn., Smithville, Mo., Pierre, S.D., and Sioux Falls, S.D. The company also offers additional biofuels, including E-10 and biodiesel. Currently biodiesel is offered in nearly 40 Kum & Go locations. Last year, ethanol-blended gasoline accounted for nearly 40 percent of Kum & Go’s total gas gallons sold. Last year, Kum & Go reduced its dependency on fossil fuel by 14.5 million gallons from the sale of ethanol-blended gasoline.
