Boettcher of Waukee, Iowa, has been with Kum & Go for seven years and most recently held the position of director of network operations. As director of information technology, one of Boettcher’s main responsibilities will be to oversee the company’s data security and compliance. Thanks to loyal customers, Kum & Go has grown tremendously in recent years, placing it among the nation’s largest retailers that must meet stringent security measures established by the PCI Security Standards Council. “Boettcher’s extensive IT experience will serve us well in staying on top of the ever-changing security guidelines,” said Kyle Krause, president and CEO of Kum & Go. “In addition to this new responsibility, he will continue to help direct other IT initiatives for advancing the fast, friendly and convenient service we provide our stores and customers.” About Kum & Go, L.C. In 1959 in Hampton, Iowa, company founders W. A. Krause and T.S. Gentle used the first letters of their last names to create a unique moniker to showcase the ease and convenience they instilled in a shopping experience. Thus Kum & Go was born. Since then, the convenience store chain has grown to more than 445 stores in 13 states (Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Colorado, Arkansas, Wyoming and Wisconsin). ###
