‘Jackass Number Two’ – Featuring Kum & Go T-shirt – Now on DVD

West Des Moines , Iowa – December 28, 2006 – Kum & Go, one of the nation’s leading convenience store chains, is having its own DVD-release party for one of this year’s top grossing movies.
“Jackass Number Two,” which is a sequel to the 2002 movie, “Jackass” that spawned from the hit MTV show, opened nationwide on Sept. 22, 2006, and immediately rose to the top of the box-office charts. The movie grossed $11.4 million its opening night and outpaced all movies over its first weekend of release, bringing in $28.1 million. The movie remained no. 1 for its first week, and by the end of November the movie had grossed $72.6 million.
In one segment of the movie actor Johnny Knoxville is wearing a black Kum & Go T-shirt. In the scene Knoxville is testing Embassy security machines that shoot high-speed projectiles at suspected offenders.
This small amount of exposure has had a significant impact on Kum & Go’s online merchandise sales. Since the movie premiered hundreds of shirts, ball caps and mugs have been purchased on the web site, with the most popular item being the aforementioned black Kum & Go T-shirt.
Now the c-store chain is taking the promotional concept a step further by offering a DVD-shirt combination for sale on its web site for $30. Demand is expected to be high for this exclusive online offer.
