To our Kum & Go family,
Our priority has always been the safety and well-being of our Associates & Customers. As we’ve been monitoring the evolving situation of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), this priority remains paramount; and that is why I’m proud to share that we have decided to take the following steps:
Supporting our people
Any Associate who is sick, is not to report to work. If an Associate experiences any symptoms of COVID-19, we encourage them to be tested. And regardless of their health coverage status, should there be a cost associated with testing, we will cover it. If an Associate finds themselves needing to self-quarantine for the mandated 14 days, their employment will not be in jeopardy. They will be compensated for their normally worked schedules.
Reinforcing our commitment to cleanliness
We are enhancing our sanitization safeguarding in all stores – with a focus on more frequently touched surfaces throughout the store and the dining areas during high traffic time periods. Extra solution and sanitation products are available for both customers and associates at registers and throughout the stores.
Our food offerings might look different as we believe that limiting self-serve options at this time can help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Across our footprint, we have rolled out call-in curbside pick-up and full-service fueling options.
We are providing close support to all stores in our eleven-state footprint on how to respond to any impact, including store closure. We are in regular communication with our stakeholders – civic, community & business partners, industry colleagues and many more. We are following CDC guidance daily and are committed to taking proactive steps as we navigate the many unknowns. As we do so, we will keep our people informed & equipped with the tools they need.
As a fourth-generation, family-run company, there’s only one question that matters to us: are we living our values? In moments like these, that question has never been more important. We will continue to work every day to make sure we can answer with it a resounding ‘yes.’
